| Poopada Resorts is within the town limits of Munnar and yet has managed to maintain an otherworldly atmosphere around it. It is just 200 metres from the KSRTC (Kerala State Road Transport Corporation) bus station and about 600 metres from the centre of the town. Numerous State and private bus services pass through Munnar or terminate there. |

| The nearest international airport is at Nedumbassery near Kochi (Cochin) which is 115 kms away along the national highway number 49. Kochi is at present the industrial and commercial capital of Kerala and one of the finest natural harbours. It had been 'the Queen of the Arabian Sea' from very ancient times. Spices and forest produces of Kerala found its way to the European markets via the Cochin Port. Cherai Beach, Bolghatty, Vypeen, Gundu and Willington Islands, two well-packed museums, and Chinese Fishing Nets attract thousands of visitors. The Dutch Palace, the Santha Cruz Basilica, St. Francis Church, and the Jewish Synagogue all have more than five centuries of history behind them. |

| The national highway number 49 passes through Munnar and goes on to Madurai, the Temple City of Tamilnadu, 170 kms away, on the banks of the legendary Vaigai River. Madurai Meenakshi Temple with 12 tall gopurams (towers), a 1000 pillared mandapam (corridor) with music making pillars carved out of single granite rocks. Temple and several other temples and palaces make this city a world wonder in ancient Dravidian architecture. The myriads of sculptures on the towers and walls of the temples and palaces are masterpieces of ancient art. Madurai has an airport and is an important Railway Junction. |
| Munnar is also connected to Kumarakam, the capital of backwater tourism in Kottayam district by a state highway. It is 165 kms away from Munnar, and the tourist can pass through other places of tourist interest like the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Anayirankal Dam, Lockhart Gap, and Devikulam along the route, being part of the newly announced tourism circuit. |
| Coimbatore, the second largest city in Tamilnadu and one of the fastest growing industrial areas of India is 165 kms from Munnar, via Marayoor Sandal wood forests, Chinnar Wildlife sanctuary, and commercial centres Udumalapetta and Pollachi. Coimbatore has an International airport and is an important railway junction. |
