Poopada Resorts conducts the following programmes for tourists on demand independently, and in connection with other agencies wherever necessary.
The average tourist, especially the Indian tourist, is more interested in a plain sight seeing trip of three or four days. The calendar-perfect scenery all around, with verdant hills, wooded valleys, gushing streams and placid lakes make Munnar and surrounding areas a heaven for the sightseer.
Munnar is most famous for its tea plantations. These are ubiquitous and hard to miss. Coffee and spices like pepper, cardamom, clove, turmeric, ginger, etc., are cultivated in the High Ranges in large patches. Poopada Resorts has its own spice plantations close by. The tourists are permitted to enter the plantations and observe and study the plants and all agrarian activities going on there.
The craggy slopes, with cascading streams and wooded crevices that punctuate the steep rock faces, and the gurgling rivulets, with the green canopy all along their banks, give ample opportunities for adventure tourists in and around Munnar. Rock climbing and mountaineering have peripheral pleasures like getting to a viewpoint that offers the most panoramic sight of the rolling hills and wooded valleys all around. Long and short treks with tents, firewood, food items etc., for camping are arranged for groups and individuals. We, at Poopada resorts, arrange adventure tourist activities, including paragliding, in association with the National Adventure Academy.
Reservoirs and catchments of Kundalai, Maduppetti and Ramaswamy Iyer Head works are suitable for water sports, boating, rowing, etc. The facilities for such activities provided by Kerala State Electricity Board, District Tourism Promotion Council and Forest Department can be availed through arrangements with them on short notice.
River trekking, trekking to cultural sites, staying at tree houses, and staying at camp sheds are some of the eco-tourism programmes, which can be arranged in association with Kerala Forest Department. We, at Poopada Resorts, are now independently arranging eco-tourism activities such as trekking, camping and staying out in the wild.
