Mr. Jacob George, the proprietor of Poopada Resorts. He is the fourth son of the founder of the Munnar branch of the Poopada family, Mr. I.C. George who migrated to Munnar in 1940. The Poopada family is an ancient and noble Syrian Christian family of Central Travancore with a family history dating back to at least a thousand years. The Poopada Resorts was a natural outcome of the rising demand for fair priced lodge facilities which were very rare in the eighties in this region. It began functioning on 13th July 1989.
